Here are a few stories about Jesus and the miracles which he performed
WATER BECOMES WINEJohn 2Jesus, Mary and his disciples were at a friends wedding one day, when the during the feast the wine ran out. Mary came over and told her son what had happened but Jesus did not see what the situation had to do with him. Despite what Jesus said Mary got the attention of some servants and directed them to Jesus, telling them to do whatever he said. A servant came over to Jesus and told him what they had been told. Jesus looked at his mother and then told them to fill up six water jugs that were placed at the side of the room. When they did this Jesus told them to give a glass of it to the Master of the wedding which a servant did. When he tasted it he was amazed that it was very good quality wine and he congratulated the groom on his choice. He was impressed that the best wine had been left till last, when usually it was drunk first.
JESUS CALMS THE STORMMatthew 8, Mark 4, Luke 8Jesus and his disciples had just finished a busy day preaching to the crowds and Jesus suggested that they take a boat out across the lake. The disciples agreed and they were soon on their way out. While they were sailing Jesus fell asleep. Meanwhile as the disciples sailed on the wind and waves were getting violent. As the waved crashed into the boat and threatened to sink it the disciples got more and more afraid and decided to wake Jesus. When Jesus woke up he was surprised at the panic of his disciples and so he stood at the front of the boat and yelled out into the wind for it to be still. Immediately everything was still. Jesus was puzzled and turned around to the disciples. He asked them where was their faith in God to protect them. The disciples were amazed with what they had seen and marveled and the fact that Jesus could control the wind and waves.
JESUS FEEDS THE HUNGRY CROWDSMatthew 14, Mark 6, Luke 9, John 6After going out by themselves to spread the word of God the disciples were excited to tell Jesus what they had done in their travels. As they were tired and had not eaten Jesus suggested that they go to a quiet stop away from the crowds to talk, and so they set off. Yet as they walked the crowds followed them too and so when they got to their quite destinations it was busy with hundreds of people. Jesus felt sorry for the people so he began to teach them. The disciples saw that it was getting late and suggested that they send the people off to their villages to eat and rest. Jesus asked why they could not feed the people, but the disciples were disbelieving and said that they would never have enough food for so many people. Andrew, Peter's brother found a young boy with two fish and five loafs of barley bread. Jesus took the food and prayed to God. Then he took the food and broke it into pieces handing it out around the crowd and urging the disciples to do the same. This meant that every person was able to have enough food, and then at the end there was twelve whole baskets of leftover food.
THE GOOD SAMARITANLuke 10A teacher of law asked Jesus what someone would have to do to have an eternal life. Jesus asked what the law said and he replied that one had to love the Lord and neighbour, to which Jesus agreed. But the lawyer wanted to know who was his neighbour, and he asked Jesus this question. Jesus replied with a story.
Once upon a time a man way traveling along a road when he was attacked, robbed and beaten by criminals. The man was left for dead. Later a priest came by, but he just crossed over the other side of the road and ignored the man. Then a Levite came along and did the same. After that a Samaritan came along and saw the man. He felt sorry for the poor battered body so he bandaged him up and lead him away on the Samaritan's donkey to an inn. The next day he had to leave but before he went he gave the inn keeper some money for the injured man's lodging and said he would pay any extras when he returned.
Jesus asked the lawyer who was the neighbour and the lawyer replied that it was the man who showed kindness. Jesus told the lawyer he should go out into the world and do the same.
